The Québec Government Office in New York opened its doors in 1940 at the behest of Québec business people and exporters to serve as a go-between with the financial markets. Today it is the oldest and largest of six offices representing the Québec government in the United States.
The Québec Government Office in New York provides services in a range of sectors of interest to Québec’s American partners, namely trade and investment, government relations, culture, academic affairs and communications.
It covers eight states in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond - New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia - as well as the District of Columbia.
The Delegate General is appointed by Cabinet and promotes Québec’s interests in fields of activity that fall under the Government of Québec’s constitutional jurisdiction.
